Visual Acuity Tests
In general, visual acuity testing is an integral part of a pre-employment and periodic occupational physical examination. A visual acuity test is essential to guarantee that the person being hired can perform the duties required of the position. Companies rely on an employee’s eyesight to ensure the safety of the person being hired, as well as their coworkers.
There are four routine types of vision tests used to evaluate visual acuity. These tests screen for vision sharpness, both near and distant vision. In addition, there are tests to determine the presence or absence of depth perception, peripheral vision, and color perception.
