Immunizations
No immunization is 100% effective, but they are shown to reduce the severity of a disease. You usually think of vaccines for travel or school, however, vaccines help stop passing diseases to someone else, which stops the spread throughout your entire workplace
Vaccines train our bodies to make proteins, also known as antibodies, that fight disease. They work as if we had actually been exposed to a disease like the flu or measles without actually making us sick. Whether it’s for travel or annual flu shots, Companies need to provide their workforce with immunizations against any vaccine-preventable hazard in the workplace.
OHC offer vaccines for travel and a mobile immunization clinic for easy immunizations at the workplace (e.g. Flu vaccine). Prior to any overseas business travel, we recommend getting travel immunizations at least four to six weeks beforehand.
OHC stays current with guidelines issued by the Center of Disease Control (CDC). For our Biomedical Research Clients, we offer all routine vaccinations, including hepatitis B, rabies, tetanus. For our traveling clients, we offer the full range of traveler’s vaccines, including Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, Typhoid, and Meningococcal disease. For our Biomedical Research Clients, OHC is also a traveling immunization service that will come to your Company in order to provide your employees with flu shots and other important vaccinations. Finally, OHC is authorized by the CDC to administer vaccines against more exotic infectious disease (e.g. Yellow Fever, Anthrax, Vaccinia, Tularemia).
If you are working with or will be potentially exposed to any of the infectious diseases and would like to learn more about what can be done to prevent an illness, please contact our experts at Occupational Health Consultants at 301-738-6420 to schedule an appointment.
